Our Story
Texas Autism Clinic was founded on a simple belief: every child with autism deserves coordinated, compassionate, and individualized care that helps them reach their fullest potential.
For more than a decade, TAC founders Dr. Leslie Neely and Dr. Melissa Svoboda have worked with autistic individuals, families, professionals, and community organizations in San Antonio. Again and again, they saw families receiving services from multiple providers while being left to coordinate those services themselves. TAC was created to change that.
Our vision was a place where medical expertise, behavioral therapy, education, research, and family support work together as one integrated team. By bringing expertise together and partnering closely with families, TAC creates personalized care plans that support each child's unique strengths, needs, and long-term success.
A Mission Inspired by One Family
Our mission is deeply personal.
Ty’s journey began with years of uncertainty as his family searched for answers and the right support. Determined to find the school and specialized care he needed, his family moved to San Antonio specifically to attend Alamo Heights and work with Dr. Melissa Svoboda. Shortly after moving, she introduced them to Dr. Leslie Neely.
Their collaborative approach helped Ty’s family better understand his unique needs and shifted the focus from managing symptoms to building skills through individualized, evidence-based behavioral therapy. His family experienced firsthand the transformative impact that coordinated, family-centered care can have on a child’s development and a family’s life.
That experience helped inspire Texas Autism Clinic. Today, TAC is dedicated to providing that same commitment to coordinated, individualized care to every family we serve. We are building more than a clinic—we are building a community where autistic individuals and their families have the expertise, resources, connections, and support they need to thrive.
